xflop 1.5 full circle launch "window" titles
|
|
| Blig Merk 2005-08-20, 8:30 pm |
| Micro$haft is being careful to now say launch "window" for launch
titles, meaning they will be available in the launch window, whatever
that means. The list keeps getting shorter and shorter. The best and
most worthwhile games will be out for the PC at the same time or
before, with higher resolutions (1280 by 1024 or 1600 by 1200) and
better gameplay with a KB&M.
- Amped 3 (2K Games)
- Call of Duty 2 (Activision) - on the PC first with better graphics
and gameplay and free MP
- Condemned (Sega) - on the PC also with better graphics
- Dead Or Alive 4 (Tecmo) - rehashed fighting game
- Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Bethesda) - on PC first with better
graphics and gameplay and HD!
- Final Fantasy XI (Microsoft) - already out on the PC
- Full Auto (Sega) - another driving game, who cares, doesn't look that
good
- Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (Ubisoft) - on the PC with better
graphics, gameplay, free MP
- Gun (Activision) - on the PC also
- Kameo: Elements of Power (Microsoft) - you get to be a cute little
fairy, perfect
- Madden NFL 06 (EA) - out on the PC already
- NBA 2K6 (2K Games)
- NHL 2K6 (2K Games)
- The Outfit (THQ)
- Perfect Dark LE (Microsoft) - rather bland, looks like current
generation, not next generation
- Project Gotham Racing 3 (Microsoft) - another driving game, who cares
- Quake 4 (Activision) - on the PC first with better graphics, much
better gameplay, free MP
- Ridge Racer 6 (Namco) - probably a good driving game
- Saints Row (THQ)
- Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (Activision)
- Top Spin 2 (2K Games)

| Then dont buy one. Done. Lets move on.

| I simply do not get how you can be so threatened by a piece of
technology. I haven't been accused of being exactly rational in my
dislike of the PS2, but at least I didn't make that judgement until the
machine actually came out and I actually played the games.
It's one thing to play a game and go "Man, this sucks!" but to generate
so much wishful negative thinking 3 months ahead of time just seems
irrational, bordering on certifiable.
What's the deal? Can't raise $400 in 3 months ($4.44 a day)? You should
be able to make at least that with a cardboard sign and a freeway
off-ramp.

| yeah i'm not getting a console at all now
i just spent a couple of grand on my computer, so my xbox has been
relegated to a media player, and the next gen of consoles can eat it
i don't even like microsoft, OR sony for that matter... they have both
sold me shitty products that aren't even worth half the price i paid for
them
so why give them more money... XXXXers... also, i work for one of
microsoft's biggest competitors, so i'd be a true idiot to give them
MORE of my money

He's threatened because he knows that PC gaming is dying at an alarming
rate - according to the vendors themselves.

There was an article in the Rocky Mountain News that Denver residents
contributed $4.6 Million to street beggars last year. If he moves, he
should have that 360 knocked out in less than a month.

They've been saying launch window since E3 you hopeless retard:
http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/614/614879p1.html
It's XXXXing hilarious how you've clued into this months after the fact and
are now trying to spin it as some shameful secret that you've just
uncovered. Kind of like when your mom caught you beating off to your big
brother's muscle magazines.
quote:

It means within 90 days of the launch date. Do your XXXXing homework.

And here we go. Bligmerk knows he can't compare the Xbox 360 to the PS2 --
he couldn't even compare the Xbox to the PS2 once the Xbox finally launched
and it was proven that virtually every game looked better on it. So what
does he do? Compares apples to oranges. Call of Duty 2 will have "better
graphics" -- on your high-end PC with a high-end video card.
So yeah, if you want to sit at your desk and play games on a $1,500 PC,
it'll have better graphics. If you want to buy a $400 game console that has
equal or better graphics to that PC and play it from your couch, which is
what the majority of gamers do now (as demonstrated by the exploding console
games market and dwindling PC games market), you get the Xbox 360 version.
Guess what Blig? These are CONSOLE gaming groups. Stick to the PC gaming
groups, since you don't actually own a console. Including a PS2.

As opposed to Tekken 5 which is so NEW and FRESH.

Yeah, two or three whole weeks earlier. "RAWWWK! Better graphics on the PC!
Bliggy want a cracker! RAWWWWK!"

When are 99 Nights and Blue Dragon coming out on the PC?

On the contrary it's fun and addictive. But then you probably hate Burnout
too.

"RAWWWK! Better graphics on the PC! Bliggy want a cracker! RAWWWWK!" And
please go ahead and describe how the gameplay is "better" on the PC.

"RAWWWK! Better graphics on the PC! Bliggy want a cracker! RAWWWWK!"

Yeah, and those Zelda games on Nintendo's systems have been a real failure
too huh? But I understand... you're a fairy every day in real life, why
would you want to play one in a game?
quote:
> - Madden NFL 06 (EA) - out on the PC already
So what if it's on the PC already?? It's a SPORTS game! Nobody serious about
sports games plays them on a PC!! Are you too big a dork to know that it's
also already out on the Xbox and PS2, which is where the vast majority of
its sales are made? I guess even video game football is too manly for you.
quote:
> Perfect Dark LE (Microsoft) - rather bland, looks like current

"Oh I say, it looks so rathah bland, how evah could anyone be interested,
pshaw." Hahaha, you're grasping at straws now. Go read EGM's huge story on
Perfect Dark Zero (including the notation that the screens are taken from a
work in progress version) and get back to me.

Thanks for publicly dismissing the Gran Turismo franchise with that one
statement. You really are clueless.
quote:
> - Quake 4 (Activision) - on the PC first with better graphics, much

"RAWWWK! Better graphics on the PC! Bliggy want a cracker! RAWWWWK!" And how
will the gameplay be "better" exactly?
quote:
> - Ridge Racer 6 (Namco) - probably a good driving game
Won't be half as good as PGR3.
quote:
> - Saints Row (THQ)
Whoops, you forgot to add "by the creator of the Grand Theft Auto series."
Just a small slip-up on your part I'm sure. Hahaha.
God, you just REEK of panic and desperation. Were you this pathetic right
before the Xbox came out? It was so long ago it's hard to remember. So how
does it feel to have been trolling about a video game system for FIVE YEARS
STRAIGHT? Are you proud of that? Will you put it on your resume when you're
applying at Taco Bell?

Not really surprising. Even a really bad console game will outsell most
PC titles. Right now, it seems only the big franchises are surviving on
the PC side. But really now, just how many FPS games does one really
NEED? Or SIMs plug-ins? (only $20 each!) Or hunting sims? (I never
understood this genre...)
At the same time, there's been a rebirth of the good old days of shareware
and downloadable games directly from the publishers. This is where many
of the die-hard gamers are going, since the mainstream market really isn't
going to support a turn-based WW2 tank squad tactical simulation anymore,
but they're still going strong thanks to independent developers and
publishers.
Not that this is supposed to support Bilgmerk's blathering in any way...

So, buy a Nintendo console for the few interesting games it'll have and
thumb your nose at both Sony and Microsoft at the same time

Well, that's rather vague... About half of the computer industry is
arguably in competition with Microsoft one way or another. ;)

| Did Sony release Blig Merk, or did Blig happen to escape from Sony's
lab? Maybe he escaped out of a window, which makes him a "window"
launch title.
