I'm sure this is covered elsewhere, but I can't find the information.

After the standard DRE fix (which I have done successfully dozens of times -
we have shedding cats), my system will no longer recognize ANY disk that is
put in the drive. The laser flashes once, adjusts itself a little (without
another flash) and the disk rotates about five degrees, and then nothing.
Under the browser, with the laser diagnosis turned on, I get a message that
it is reading the disk for about 2 seconds, and then nothing. This occurs
whether or not there is a disk in the drive.

Is there a fix for this? Thank you,
