Toshiba demos the future Sony PS3 CPU at the COOL Chips VIII conference
in Japan.

Toshiba showed how the CELL Chip can simultaneously decode 48 SDTV
MPEG-2 video streams. 48 MPEG-2 streams stored on a HDD were read,
decoded and projected to a 1,920x1,080 pixel resolution display divided
into 8 x 6 cells, each of which showed a different video.
