Geez, Fred's precious DS is even being outsold by the PS2. So much for that
"numbers" argument. If it is that close in Japan, it will be a massacre
here once more and more screen shots and game play footage is released.

I'm not sure why Fred is so delusional about the PSP and the DS. I've said it
many times before that I'm no fan of Sony but that won't cloud my judgement of
which product is better. All three of the home consoles are a close match and
you can support any of the three and be happy about your purchase but this
handheld market is not even close. I'm amazed that Nintendo didn't see this
coming and make a product that was more robust with features and power.

Now you guys know that we won't see Fred in this thread until he's found
that one Nintendo-Fanboy that puts up a site that says otherwise. Then he'll
be here spewing crap like usual about how it can't be true until Nintendo
fans say it.

This is like dangling a rotten apple above a hole in the ground where we all
know a troll lives.

How am I involved in this? I'm not a fan of either handheld, altho if
I had to choose one it would be the PSP for it's analog stick, larger
screen and ability to play music/movies. Personally I don't see why
both system can't co-exist since they are geared towards different
markets, but if you two are happy trolling for Nintendo DS fanboys go
right ahead.

Why you two are suddenly anti-Nintendo during this handheld debate when
usually you are neutral when it comes to console hardware, I'll never
know.

Look at post from five days ago and get back to me on this. I'm trolling now
because for the past two weeks I've been posting here in the Sony newsgroup
for opinions on the situation of the DS versus the PSP and I've been gettting
jacked by DS fanboys who are in here for some reason reading PSP post. If I
wanted to get a rise from DS fanboys I would have been posting this crap in
the Nintendo newsgroups. I hope you realize that my original post were put
here to get opinions(from Sony people because its the Sony group right)on who
would make the most sales from the current handheld generation and not whether
or not both could co-exist. I'm neutral except for when a console maker makes
something like a Virtual Boy or this thing that seems totally gimicky to me(I
actually hate Nintendo for bringing this thing to market because I wanted them
to stuff a great handheld down Sony's fat neck). I think the DS sales will be
OK but the PSP is going to dominate and this is not what Nintendo needed.

I have never posted ANYTHING anti-Nintendo but I was attacked by Fred when I
said that the PSP would be successful without mention of the DS. I have
never condemned the DS and I am getting one for my son. I just think the PSP
kicks handheld butt and that is that.

Jordan

2005-02-11, 5:44 pm

It doesn't surprise me... if you compare relative launches and my own
(admitted) bias:

PSP launch titles I want to play - 4
PS2 launch titles I wanted - 0
DS - 0
Xbox - 2

The PSP is shaping up to be a nice little machine and (gasp) the first
hand-held that may actually compete with real consoles.

No excuses. Kind of figured, recently, this was going to be the case after
the DS software menu just hasn't taken off. Hardware wise, it's the better
fit for a portable, battery life, etc, but it's just sitting there with the
same handful of uninspired games. What a missed opportunity. I'm starting
to doubt they'll ever be able to recover. They aren't that far behind, so
it's possible, but they aren't releasing any must haves for it, it seems.
Not that the PSP has any itself, but without the DS having a must have, the
shallow eye candy is going to kill it.

What a disappointment.

Um, because "features and power" have NEVER won the handheld race, and it
certainly doesn't seem to be the deciding factor in this race, either. It's
the fact that the DS games are carp so far.

Same here...several VERY solid titles coming for it. The DS is just
going to get dusted. Not near the machine that the PSP is and a game

I have 3 must-haves just from the Japanese release list, and it's only 3
because I don't speak Japanese well enough to get more games.

Lumines, Hot Shots, and Ridge Racers.

Not sure about Lumines, as in if it would be something I would really be
into or not. Hot Shots or the Tiger Woods definitely though for some
portable golf. Ridge Racer is very likely also. That platformer Death
Jr. looks decent also, think that is the right name for and that it is
scheduled as a release title.

Nope, it wouldn't. Many people buy games that aren't must have. They're in

If I wasn't the ethical upright citizen that I am, I'd register Democrat
just to vote for Hilary in the primaries. I so want her to run for office
in '08. Even better, Boxer!!! Oh, tis the season for non-Democrats seeing
as they are falling apart at the seams and have lost any touch with reality.

I hate to tell you this but if Hilary runs you better get ready for our first
female president. If your an upright citizen then this country is more XXXXed
then I first thought.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!

You've proven you're out of touch with reality when you thought Kerry was
going to win and Hilary has everything going against Kerry plus everything
she's done herself.

The Democrats won't win for quite a while because they've gotten so far out
of touch with reality and people don't buy their lies anymore.

I've been out of school for over twenty years and I've forgotten many of these
things(or just too lazy to worry about the correct usage in a place like
this). I deal with aircraft logs every night at work where pilots(college
graduates...many of them only a few years out of college-co-pilots)make
entries and they have far worse grammer/spelling than I do.

I never thought Kerry would win. I was hoping he would and would have voted
for just about anybody other than Bush. Hilary will clean plow if she runs in
2008.

And then all that would be left would be to have a woman president in 2016.
