Is it worth buying? Is it as good as Manhunt?

I am about 40% through the game and it is MUCH better than Manhunt. Maybe
part of my excitement is the nostalgia of seeing the Warriors in the theatre
at an early age but man I love this game.

I had not even really paid any attention to the game, friend of mine picked
it up and I checked it out some the other night. Surprsingly good game,
co-op is really good also. Like you I loved the film, so that is likely some
factor in it all...but beyond that it also plays really well.

My only complaint is the control is a bit twitchy. Turning causes the
camera to swing wildly, and every touch of the joystick seems to send
your character charging off in another direction.

Other than that, it's a fun game. Love the 720p support.

The toughest part is trying to run. I figured out that its better to turn
your view than to try and run and change direction with the left analog. I
also get lost in the big battles trying to change foes.

It has 720p support? How the heck do I turn that on? I never really bother
so I never learned.

My favorite part is how the co-op screen splits if you get too far away from
each other. My wife has problems with switching foes or else I would be
more than halfway done. Very sweet game.

Is The Warriors as violent and pulse-pounding as Manhunt? I'd love to
hear some specifics about weapons, basic strategies, and encounters with
the 100 different gangs. Also, is there any funny shit that rivals
Manhunts demented nature, as far as dialogue with the gangs etc....

There are a multitude of weapons but there is no "suffocate with a paper
bag" move. You can smash a bottle on someone's head and then stab them with
the remnants. You can throw people through store front windows. The tough
part is the fact that there are so many enemies on screen at once and they
often gravitate toward the person kicking the most butt and that is usually
you and not the CPU characters. There are many points in the game where you
HAVE to run. The numbers are so overwhelming that it is impossible to "bop"
your way out of situations. You can run away and hide in the shadows. You
can throw a bottle from behind a dumpster and then run the other way when
they explore the sound. You can make your guys scatter when the odds are
overwhelming and then try and regroup later. It is not a mind-blowing
experience but the game is pure fun.

The dialogue is hilarious. Swan says stuff like, "Let's smash these
pussies" before multi-enemy confrontations.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be picking this one up in the next few
weeks. Doesn't sound as brutal as Manhunt, but then again nothing is as
ultra-violent as MH.

is this game like fighting force?

e.g. is the 2 player mode, got a proper camara angle, not split screen, but
in one screen.

The game is on one screen until you get too far from each other and then it
splits.
