I played the demo and was appalled -- the control was wonky and the
graphics were reminiscent of the PSX. However, I've read three reviews
from popular gaming sites and in each the reviewer goes on and on about
the 'revolutionary' gameplay. Okay, I'll admit that piqued my interest.

So, to those of you playing it: What's the "wow factor"?

Awww, look. Its little Hillbilly J. Duncequeer with another 'nym in a
long string of them, trying to look like another person. Poor little
Billy, found out using Duncequeer for a 'nym didn't seem to lend much
credibility to the little fella's slag trollings in the PS2 newsgroup.
Now, the little xflop fanfairy is back, slagging Shadow of Colossus
because the little fella knows it is a AAA title that is going to be a
big success. C'mon, Duncequeer, go back to that handle since it
describes you so well.

1. Per Pixel HDR lighting.
2. Best animation in any game, period.
3. Largest and Most complex models in a game, period.
4. 480p with true 16x9 output.

While the game doesn't run silky smooth, it does manage to stay around
30fps the majority of the time (like most Xbox games). Also, the
procedural animation in the game could not be achieved on the Xbox nor
the Gamecube, as niether system has 6.2Gflops of power than can be
devoted entirely to polygon tranformation.

Xbox CPU = 3.5~ Gflops
GC CPU = 3.5~ Gflops
PS2 EE = 6.2~ Gflops

It's awesome, and it definitely has THE best designed/animated
characters in videogame history (ie, the Colossi), but it is just as
definitely not something everyone will enjoy. But since it is short
enough to beat in a rental, it's something everyone should play.
