No one's talking about this game? It's awesome, as good as I expected
from the Ico team.

So far I'm 6 colossi in and it's still very easy, but I really don't
care -- like Ico, the game creates a world that is far more convincing
than the empty warehouses, sewer tunnels, and streets full of a
half-dozen shambling clones other games have. The forests, deserts,
hidden lakes, and mountains of Shadow, while empty except for you, your
horse, and a few lizards and birds, really feels like a real place. The
music is amazing; the graphics, while a bit grainy, are beautiful. The
colossi are incredible; so far, the flying one in particular was a
standout.

Anyway: It's a must have, as the other reviews should have made clear
by now.

Picked it up on the way home tonight. Good to hear it lives up to the Ico
legacy.

I'm happy to find it a bit challenging. Just got pwned by #5 due to
carelessness. Awesome game, one of the best I've ever played.

#5 was my favorite so far -- really awe-inspiring. The animation in
this game (as in Ico) is just head and shoulders above nearly anything
else out there (Prince of Persia might have been in the same league),
and the art and design is just stunning.

I cannot wait to see what these guys do with PS3. If all they did was
re-release Ico and Shadow with next-gen graphics, I'd be first in line
with my wallet in hand.

Was #5 the flying creature? I forget...they are all starting to run
together!

I was a big fan of ICO and tried to get as many people to play it as I
could. In fact, before starting Shadow, I went back and played ICO
again just to refresh my memory--despite the fact that it was 4 years
old and on a CD-ROM, the game is still amazing. I admit that I didn't
initially feel the same way about Shadow. It definitely had the same
"vibe" as ICO, but the fog and light and motion blur effects bugged me.
It just seemed more obvious that they were trying to overcome the
limits of the hardware, rather than games such as God of War or RE4,
which seem to push the limits of the hardware. Also, I enjoyed ICO's
puzzles and exploration, whereas Shadow (so far) emphasizes combat
since it is essentially one boss battle after another.

It is growing on me, though. I'd give it high marks for atmosphere and
artistic merit, just like ICO, and high marks for originality (those
bosses are like platform games where the entire platform is alive!).
However, I prefer ICO's puzzles and brain-teasers over Shadow's
emphasis on finding a weak spot and stabbing it.

Still, I'd definitely recommend it to ICO fans and anyone looking for
an adventure game that feels timeless and epic.

Is this game an RPG? Or do you actually kill the shit out people with your
sword in hand.

It's an action/adventure. You find a colossus, find a way onto it, and
kill it. Repeat 15 more times. There are no other enemies.

No on both counts, it's way too original for that. Here's a detailed
review/my thoughts on the game having just finished it;

Stunning piece of work.
