| Well, now i bought me this game and somehow i am a little
disappointet.
The graphic looks kinda awful. Perhaps i got used to the nicer graphic
on the gamecube.
I just wonder why capcom made it possible to have on the gamecube so a
nice graphic and had on the playstation done so bad.
At least the game is good, but it failed me graphicwise. Maybe i am
the only one how feels that way.
(i know the PS2 version is older than the GC version, but still...)

It actually came out on the Dreamcast first.

You know that gc is stronger than ps2, you know that rajt, and you know
that code veronica is old game, you know that too rajt, so stop asking
really dumb questions, get an email from the programers and yak with
them about that.

to be fair it was more or less a direct port of a Dreamcast game... The
grahics were actually not bad for a 1st gen game, and considering it was
also a port from an earlier system, they weren't too bad at all. Anyways I
was disappointed too, not with the graphics, but with the game itself. Its
controls were a step back from RE3, and to be honest the story, the
scripting and the pacing just didn't- for the lack of a better word, excite
me at all. I thought it was too easy and just wasn't very... well, fun.

| Hey, that was not a question. It was just a statement.
And no, i did not know that the GC is "stronger" than the PS2.
And, there are no stupid questions. Only stupid answers.

| I understand the fact, that it was a port and back those days in 2001.
The graphics in the movie clips parts are good, no doubt. I just
wished there were using pre rendered backgrounds for the game, like it
was made on the GC. It just looked better.
But i got told that the dreamcast version supposedly is the better
one. Well, who has a dreamcast?
The story, well, didn't catched me eighter so far. Perhaps a title you
don't have to have.
How does Silent Hill compare to RS? Just curious.

The Silent Hill series are scarier than the Resident Evil series IMO. I
haven't finished SH4 yet, but I have finished the first three SH, and have
played and finished most of the offline RE games (apart from 4, which isn't
out here yet).
I've played and finished SH1 about 10 times now, RE2 about 5, and at least 1
for most of the games in both series - and I think Resident Evils are all
about the action and the scripted "jump out and boo!" events, whereas the SH
series are all about the creepy graphics, freaky ambient noises and music,
and amazingly nightmar-ish and uncomfortable atmosphere. IMO the original
PSOne Silent Hill is probably the best of the lot - I haven't finished 4
yet, so I can't compare, but SH1 has the most amazing story, sense of dread,
pacing, characters, and (for its time) amazing graphics and sound as well.
if you like survival horror games though, try out the Fatal Frame/Project
Zero games as well. I haven't started on 2 yet, but the first game was
amazingly freaky. Also the series has an unique "targeting/fighting"
system, where you have to "fight" ghosts by capturing their image (in first
person POV) with your camera - guess it's got something to do with the old
superstition about photographs stealing your soul huh?

Yeah, it's shit.
I said that back when it came out too.
It looks like the Dreamcast version. In some ways, worse.

Clock Tower games are more like traditional adventure games mostly
puzzle solving...if I remember correctly.

Kind of like Disaster Report (SOS: The Final escape in Europe) I suppose - a
supurb game imo.

| That was my question.
Anyway, for i played only RE.
I got it that way explained that RE has a better storyline, and Silent
Hill the better Scarefactor.
But like i said. I wasn't playing Silent Hill at all.
