| Although I bought Samurai Warriors last year and played it a little, I
really couldn't get into that much due to the caps they put on your
character's development at level 20.
However, when I got Samurai Warriors Xtreme for Christmas, they made a lot
of changes, which I think makes the game much more enjoyable without
having to worry about running out of skill points and such.
They added two other features - bonus points and gold. Gold can be earned
in the eternal challenges - the castle, abyss and the new gold rush
level. When you kill certain enemies or generals, they'll drop the old
exp bonus items, but they're worth gold instead. Gold can be used to buy
new items (as opposed to finding them the normal way) or upgrading items
and weapons.
Bonus points are used to unlock new features, such as alternative
costumes for your generals, allowing the 5th weapon to appear on "normal"
instead of hard, etc. You earn bonus points for completing a mission
(either free play or musou) unlocking both endings for characters, or earning
special items or weapons. For 20000, you can allow 5th weapons to appear
on Normal. For 100000, you can allow the 6th weapon to appear on Hard
instead of Chaos. And for a whopping 1 million you can allow your
characters to develop their stats beyond their pre-programmed limits.
Problem is, you only earn a few hundred to a thousand bonus points for each
accomplishment. Finishing a level nets you 400, for instance.
Anyone know a good way to earn bonus points faster? I mean, there's only
so many rare items, special weapons, movies and missions you can earn, and
I figure that won't even cover more than a few hundred thousand.
Tips for earning gold quickly would also be appreciated. I've tried the
Gold Rush challenge a few times, but haven't managed to make it out with
more than maybe 800g while the default top score is 5000. I'm obviously
not "getting it".
