| I'm at the beginning of the game, and I just rescued Sokolov, and just
watched the cutscene where I totally school Ocelot. Sokolov has run off and
Major Tom has told me to go get him. Here's my problem, I go to the
Northeast area of the map, where Sokolov headed for, and there's a portion
of the map that isn't blocked off and looks like that's where you should go,
but the gate blocking it is closed and I can't/don't know how to open it...
there are also a stack of boxes just south of the gate that I can climb on,
but I can't get over the fence once I get on top of them... what am I doing
wrong please...

Well, your problem is that Sokolov ran south toward the bridge. ^_^
(If you saved, have fun and kill Ocelot while he's unconsious. Only do
this if you saved.)
