DVD+R on PS2 Culdcept backup

| Hey all,
I made a backup copy of my favorite game (Culdcept) today. My original is
getting abused and used and its hard to find a copy here in town so whilst
I wait for Gamestop to ship one in, I made a backup copy to DVD+R.
I tried it and it doesn't work - PS2 asks me for a PS2 formatted disc.
Do I need to have modchip to play it or did I just waste a DVD ?
and for god sakes don't cry THEIF - I own the game! :-P

THIEF! ;-)
Yes you need a modchip,otherwise there's no way of playing a backup/copy
DVD or CD disc.

Use -r media & get a flip top or some other mod.
