Madden 2005 Online woes

| My friend and I have been trying to play eachother in Madden 2005
online for two weeks now. Both of us are able to log into the madden
servers and challenge eachother. Once we challenge eachother, the
game just sits there "Connecting to Player." After about two minutes,
it times out and says that it was unable to connect us.
We've determined that the issue is with my Linksys Wireless router
(WRT54G). When I remove the router, and directly connect my PS2 to
the cable modem, it works fine. This however takes down my entire
home network during the process, so I'd like to avoid having to do so.
This problem also happens when I try to play some other users. The
strange thing is that I can play some people with no problems. It's
only about 50% of the users out there that this problem happens with.
I've given my PS2 a static IP, and enabled port forwarding on the
ports given to me by EA sports.
Any ideas? Thanks

| there are certain ports you need to open, in the Madden news online section
and also EASportsnation.com, they list all the ports you need to open. If
that doesn't work, go to Linksys site.
Good luck.
