The Smackdown series is typically the highest rated of all 3 and it has
online.

I don't think the Smackdown, or previous ones of the series, have had
any online to them. I beta tested the online portion of the Smackdown
vs. Raw game like a month or two ago...and from what I understood it was
the first wrastlin' game to be online. Can't comment too much on the
game as I am not into that, but it seemed to play well, looked nice
graphically, strong create a wrestler and seemed to play well. I
couldn't get a good grasp though on the controls and moves though as
every match I would enter seemed to be against someone who was a vet of
the series and would just stomp my XXX into oblivion. Beta of games like
that need at least a short demo mode or something so you play even a
timed match and if it is only with like 2 certain characters so those
that are not into that genre of games can practice a little and get a
grip on WTF is going on.

Massivegrooves, how did you get on the list to beta test the game for
THQ? I would be interested to do this next year! Thanks.
BTW you can email me this info if you'd rather not make it public - just
reply to say so and I'll give you the address.

Oops, I though he was referring to the newest batch coming out. I didn't
know he was talking about the old crap. My bad.

Go to playstation.com, sign up (free) there to be a member. In your
profile somewhere you should see something like a box somewhere to click
if you are interested in beta testing. The testing is run through Sony
and this site, not directly through THQ or whoever the company/game in
question might be...or at least Sony/playstation.com is responsible for
pooling the participants, thier feedback, etc.. It is pretty much luck
of the draw, I have about 4 beta tests now for them. Helps a lot to have
a braodband connection without that then you are likely not going to see
many if any invites for tests as most games (or at least the better
ones) online parts are broadband only.

I guess you are reffering to what I just stated...so there it is, really
no big secret.
