| I rented out two games but were unable to play them. Both would stop
after the initial loading and say "Please enter analog2
controller......". I turned it on and off. Took the controllers out
and put them back in. Nothing worked.
The games are Transformers and Starwars Battlefield.
I was using a Madcatz Dual force controller. I dont have a stock
controller. This controller works with my other 12 or so games. But
ESPN football the L1, R1 buttons dont work
Thanks in advance

That's just great, making this guy think that he's going to have to take
his PS2 apart... great answer.... How about buying a 'official'
controller or maybe a controller that is actually worth more than a
smack in the head with a two by four. Find the location of your locale
gaming store... (ie... EB or Gamestop) Bring your controller and your
game that doesnt work too.. and ask them politely to test it out and see
if its the controller or the ps2. I'm betting my money on the
controller (non analog shoulder buttons anyone???) In which case you
can either live with it, or maybe trade it in for a used official
controller, or a used third party controller that will actually work
with the games you are playing. Personally i dont trust anything that
doesnt have SONY written on it. It may cost you more but you always get
what you pay for. Now that i've said that, i take it back... because i
bought the wireless action controller by logitech, but then again that
controller is practically the equivalent of a wavebird for the ps2...
buy one of those if you can!

| Thanks Brenden. I was planning to buy a stock Sony controller this
weekend but I wanted to make sure this was not an isolated incident with
aftermarket controllers. I wonder why more isnt said about this
nonsense. Buyers should see this coming a mile away.
