Well, I wouldn't consider Madden 06 or Tiger Woods 06 to be "boring".

Let me guess:

25. Madden/ESPN
24. Tiger Woods
23. NCAA Football
22. NASCAR
21. NHL
20. FIFA/MLS
19. NBA Live
18. NBA Street
17. NFL Street
16. FIFA Street
15. Rugby
14. Fight Night
13. SSX
12. Medal of Honor
11. Need for Speed
10. Road Rash
9. Burnout
8. Sled Storm
7. Time Splitters
6. Battlefield
5. a Harry Potter game
4. a Batman game
3. a Superman game
2. a Lord of the Rings game
1. a James Bond game

Wow, that was easy! I was going to be sarcastic, including "sports" titles
such as bowling, bocce ball, figure skating, etc., but I didn't even have
room for any made-up games. And this doesn't take into account any new
series they develop...or purchase. I guess the point is, when you have as
many franchises as EA does, developing 25 next-generation games is no big
deal...

2005-05-13, 8:31 pm

EDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 13, 2005 - Electronic Arts Inc (NASDAQ: ERTS)
today announced that it has 25 videogames for next generation consoles
currently in development. EA's announced next generation line-up will be at
the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, May 18-20,
2005.

New games from the EA SPORTSTM and EATM brands that will be unveiled at E3
include: Tiger Woods PGA TOURŪ 06, FIFA 06, Madden NFL 06, NBA LIVE 06, Need
For SpeedTM Most Wanted and The GodfatherTM. EA's focus on character
development, animation, gameplay innovation, online play, and graphics will
be showcased in its next generation titles.

"EA's diverse next generation line-up will give game players worldwide an
early taste of what the next generation hardware systems can do," said Don
Mattrick, EA president of worldwide studios. "These games are so rich in
terms of graphic fidelity, levels of detail in relation to characters and
environments, audio, gameplay innovation and overall entertainment value
that they will draw in new consumers and give even the most seasoned gamers
something to cheer about. The creativity and technology combined with the
talent of EA's development teams will create a new era in videogame design.
This next generation of games will hoist interactive entertainment to an
unprecedented position on the entertainment ladder."

For the past two years, EA has been concentrating on next generation
development, deploying experienced EA designers and engineers onto projects
that use proprietary EA technology to experiment with next generation
visuals, physics, animation and gameplay possibilities. EA is invested in
the development of a wide breadth of next generation products, a handful of
which will be unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo on May 18-20,
2005.

I am a mainstream gamer yet YOU are the one who doesn't watch this newsgroup
constantly. That is very interesting. You are going a long way towards
proving my "he thinks faster" point. I don't need to killfile you (although
I think you just heard the term and want to use it) because it would serve
no purpose. So go play your underground cutting-edge game that no one has
heard of and I will play my mainstream PSP or some other mainstream game
like Midnight Club.

I guess I enjoy utter crap because I had a ton of fun with their titles this
year.
Fight Night 2, Def Jam NY, Burnout 3, NFS Underground 2, Madden 2005, Street
V3..... just to name a few.
Last I checked all of those games sold very well and had excellent scores /
ratings.

I have heard this very weak statement made time and time again regarding
but the same is true for every single developer in console gaming.
It's extremely rare that you see a brand new game (not a sequel or copy of a
previos game in the same genre) release that both sells and rates high.
So why talk smack just about EA when all developers are guilty of the exact
same thing?
EA tried as hard, if not harder than everyone / anyone else to bring out new
games and add to their existing hot titles.
