The OE behavior which drove me nuts in the past (reading others' messages,
of course I would never use OE...:-) is the way it apparently _completely_
fails to deal with non-ASCII character sets in any rational way: Most
modern newsreaders will add appropriate mime headers to say what encoding
the message uses, but OE would either just blat out the raw characters with
no indication as to what they are, or even worse, try to do some sort of
"translation" which would completely destroy the contents (treating raw
non-latin characters as latin, and constructing ersatz ASCII replacements
for non-ASCII glyphs).

Given the clue level of most OE users of course, they don't even realize
something's wrong because they typically only ever exchange mail with other
OE users using exactly the same settings and fonts.

Man I hope they've fixed that crap in more recent releases...
