Which is silly, because there is no such thing as a Japanese or
Vietnamese or Italian "race," assuming you believed in racialism.
However, it is discriminating along national boundaries, so it's still
disrespectful. Since Japan is really called Nippon by the Japanese,
maybe they don't know what "Jap" means? Maybe they prefer to be called
"Nips"?
