Of course you can - you just have to believe that it's not a classic. You're
not wrong, you're following your own values and not those of others. You
would *not* be wrong - you'd be at odds with a great many people, but you'd
not be wrong.

The relevant points thereof:
"Serving as the established model or standard"
None of them are the "established model" because they draw upon the
techniques and gameplay of previous works on older systems.
"Having lasting significance or worth; enduring."
That one is a matter of opinion, which we can safely ignore as any opinion
is based upon the person's tastes and perceptions.
"An artist, author, or work generally considered to be of the highest rank
or excellence, especially one of enduring significance."
Again, matters of opinion. "Generally considered" - by whom? Again, opinion,
not fact.
"A work recognized as definitive in its field." - again, possibly - but
recognised by whom? It's that old bugbear personal opinion again.
