| All you need is to connect the game cube to a wireless router that has
four wired ports.

I've been using our GameCube on my home 80211.b network for a long time (even
two GameCubes). I simply use a Linksys adaptor that plugs into Ethernet ports
rather than USB ports.

Was it worth it to buy all that extra hardware? I'm not trying to bust
your chops here, really interested in how much online play you can do,
didn't think there were that many games online enabled.

I play GameCube online every day since I'm a Phantasy Star Online addict.
Also, since the Linksys boxes are hardware-independent, I can use them in a
pinch for an old laptop I have that doesn't have an 802.11b card and for
visitors that need to tap into my Internet connectivity.
Also, with the wireless boxes I don't have to worry about Ethernet wiring to my
GameCubes. I can locate them anywhere in the house and have online
connectivity. Also, they allow for wireless infrastructure mode, so with two
GameCubes I can also play LAN games without having the wiring to worry about.
