a new-for-the-time white 8-bit Famicom called the "Famicom Adaptor"
(unreleased) but was clearly a standalone Famicom console, not an
adaptor for the SFC. note: this was NOT the original Japanese Famicom
from 1983 that came out before the NES. it is a 1988 re-design of the
Famicom styled like the then-new Super Famicom.

early pics of Super Mario Bros. 4 aka Super Mario World. some you have
seen, some you may not have seen
Chris:
"Here are some more pics of an early Super Mario World. It looked very
much like a 16-bit version of SMB3 back then, what with the note
blocks, coins, square question blocks, and raccoon-Mario power-up. No
sign of Yoshi whatsoever.
These pics, and the ones that appeared in other magazines, are usually
identical. That means that Nintendo probably distributed slides or
photographs to various magazines at the time. Only some of the images
taken by magazines at the SFC show were from live video (or more likely
videotape, given their blurriness.)"

scaling and rotation.)

well, technically, they were the same, as the Super Famicom design was
used for the European SNES
but you're right, the american version was just ugly.
