PSP's original VRAM bandwidth was 5.3 Gbps / GB per sec
http://www.gamespot.com/all/news/news_6072659.html

that was using a 256-Bit bus.

but now, PSP VRAM has a 512-bit bus.

so, (166 MHz * 512 bits) / ( 8 bits/bytes) = 10.4 GB/s

the VRAM bandwidth has nearly doubled. more bandwidth is always a good
thing. it helps allow for larger videogame worlds
more complex objects and structures, etc.
