Link between GB Advance and Advance SP?

| Can one link between the original GB Advance and an Advance SP?
The reason I ask: I just finished GOLDEN SUN, and want to import my
characters into GOLDEN SUN: LOST AGE. When I link my old Advance to
the Advance SP, I can't get the transfer to happen...nothing seems to
occur. I just tried playing a "Single Pak" multiplayer Advance Wars,
and again, the link is never established.
Wondering if this is a problem with my cable, or if the two systems
just can't communicate.

We have both an Advance an a SP at home, and transferring pokemons by
a link cable works, IIRC. Shouldn't be a problem. Did you buy a third
party cable? Because we had problems at first with our third party
cable, as it was compatible with the GBC as well. There was a small
switch which we had to change to "GBA"...

To transfer data from golden sun you should hold the start, select, a and b
button in the main screen if I'm correct. I'm not sure, though, so check out
google.
