is Zool worth picking up?

| Did a search on it but didn't find much, other than a post by Benjamin
who wondered the same thing (got two replies but they were refering to
the Jaguar version)
I know the SNES version got absolutely RIPPED. Mainly due to its
slippery controls. Was wondering if the GEN version fixed it up any?

More unhelpful comments: the Jag game Zool 2 is great. Probably less
unhelpful: the Game gear Zool was OK, but nowhere near the goodness of
Zool 2.

| That's funny to see, because I never did get Zool do to the lack of
information, too. :^) You can be a pioneer! :^)

| LOL Benjamin. On a side note, it's always nice to see people who
posted back in the late 90's still kicking round these neck of the
woods. Too many people disappear off for good. If I ever get Zool
I'll be sure to let you know how it is. Seeing how much you liked
Rayman, I'm shocked you never got Zool.

I just played both (SNES on zsnes, Genensis on Gens), and they have the
same look-and-feel. The SNES one has bigger sprites for the characters,
and if anything, the controls on the Genesis version are *looser*.
YMMV.

I remember the Genesis version's control being loose, but not "slippery",
so it may not be too bad. It's been a long time since I tried it via
emulation though, so you may want to fire up Gens and give it a shot.
Funny story: I found Zool at GameStop one day, complete, for $4.99. Pick
that motherXXXXer up and RAN home to play it. Popped the cart in the
Genesis and....well, it was Sonic 2. Someone actually went through the
time and effort to not only open the cart, but replace it with another.
I'm guessing it was a possible return, or rental cart...and the person
would rather have kept Zool over Sonic 2(why, I don't know).

| Well, I'm certain Zool is hardly on the same level as Rayman. :^)
There's just lots to get, and it's easy to overlook. Plus, I still have
a tendency to mix up Zool and Zoom when I first see it. I have to take
a second and think about which is what. :^)

In the toy level of the SNES version, there is an Etch-a-Sketch with goodies
on top of it, but how to get to them. You jump on the knobs to draw a line
across the middle and then jump on the line.
