I've been meaning to do that one for some time, I have the Sega CD
version, it's awesome.

Is this referring to me? I'm just putting the pictures against each
other and describing them as carefully as I can, if anything I'm usually
accused of being a Sega fanboy. ;)

Big time, 2 years should have made for a system that crushed the
Genesis, and what the Snes ended up being had trade offs to the Genesis'
strengths in sprites and backgrounds, not to mention speed in general.

I always prefered the Genesis pad, I still use the 3 button for RPGs.

I'm not sure about unpolished, there were just as many rushed
releases for both platforms, and even more poorly ported Snes games for
the Genesis. Action games in general seemed to run pretty slow on the
Snes though, beat-em ups in particular were always limited to 3-4
enemies at once, and that's just lame.

I just found Great Circus Mystery for the Snes at my local game store.
I guess that Magical Quest never made it, so I can't do two comparisons,
but I can at least compare GCM one-to-one.

No idea.
