http://www.genesiscollective.com/index.php is messed up for quite some time
already, but now there isn't even the menu on the left with the link to the
database anymore. Does anybody have a direct link to the game database? Is
there a mirror of the site anywhere?

I have no idea what Snorter is doing...you're right, it's been broke for years,
and now it's just pretty much dead. A shame too, I'm sure there would have been
quite a few hardcore Genesis fans who would have hosted it for him.

Before it went down, I did manage to get the GC Offline thing. It's over in the
Genesis Game Genie Codes section of my site:

Thank you for the link, that was pretty close to what I was looking for.
Since I was not able to use it under Linux (the CHM viewers I tried did not
display it properly) I tried to convert it to HTML, but I did not get any
satisying results so far. But to view all that valuable information I'll to
take it upon myself to boot Windows every now and then.

Yeah, I felt the same way back when I was on the Mac.

I did happen to see this:

http://www.google.com/search?q=conv...a-search&num=20

Some of that may or may not work...

I tried several of them yesterday. Most of them were able to convert a
single CHM file to HTML (one crashed), some of them created a nice
directory, others didn't, but none was able to follow the links between the
CHM files and take into account that the whole document is assembled from
several CHM files. I guess that's something that involves some manual
labor. Maybe I'll do it whenever I'm bored. Would you be interested in
receiving a copy to publish it on your website if I ever get around to do
it?

Sure, that'd be great. I feel bad going to such lengths without Snorter's
permission, but if the site's just dead, I'd think he'd appreciate it. We'll
see...

At any rate, yeah, if you ever get to it, just let me know...if not, no big
deal.
