Golden Axe character questions
|
|
|
| Is there any difference between the strengths of the three characters
in Golden Axe I & II? Does Tyris Flare have a weaker attack than say
Gilius the dwarf but stronger magic, or do all three hit for the same
amount of damage with their weapons?

| their attacks are roughly the same in strength, though it does seem at
times tyris flare has to hit a bit more to finish someone off. the big
difference is animation (which involves reach) and speed.
the reason it blends a bit is because i usually used the powerful attack
moves that are pretty flat for each character. the "death from above"
impale (double tap run, jump, down+attack) and attack+jump backwards
attack are both very strong and the same for each character. since when
i play as tyris i use mostly those i find that there isn't much
difference in combat.
golden axe 2 is a bit different if i remember correctly. i think they
changed strength levels, but it's honestly been so long ago. should be
around the time when character differentials were popular, like streets
of rage 2 for example.

Thanks! I've been working on it quite a bit lately.

Is it just me or is the "death from above" impale attack a lot harder
to hit an enemy with in Golden Axe II? Half the time I seem to come
down on an enemy only to get sliced and diced by his sword.
