I think that 96 was when the franchise reached its pinnacle. 94 was
great too, what with the extra features like decibel level reports and
Ron Barr. But 96 had all the best goals, like the fabled A-mo
streaking down the right wing, maybe pulling a spin move, and then
blasting one to the bottom left corner. Mogilny is probably the best
player in that game, despite his 92 rating. He is my favourite player,
along with Belfour. Belfour is the best goalie both in terms of
statistics and intangibles. By intangibles of course I am referring to
Belfour's well known ability to make the big save with the game on the
line, particularly against howitzers from the likes of Lindros,
Bourque and the other big guns. That said, Belfour does seem to be
overly susceptible to the 4 second goal and its variations. But that
is the beauty of 96.
