Thanks! We can't wait for it to be done. However, there will be no
real arcade machines in there. I call it my arcade room because my
gaming collection consists of thirty-one systems and over eight hundred
games. These systems range from the old classics (Atari 2600, etc) up
through the Saturn/Playstation/N64 era. Please keep in mind that my
systems count also includes hand-helds like Gameboy, Lynx I/II,
TurboExpress, etc., in addition to different variants of some (say, my
two-port Atari 5200 and a four-port version of the same), and older my
older computers (Atari 130XE and Commodore 128d). I pretty much had to
quit collecting systems and games right about the time my first
daughter was born. Hahaha...imagine that. =] However, I just
recently started a new job that pays quite a bit more than my old one
so I should be able to start collecting again once our house is done
and that all settles down.

When the arcade room was in full swing in our previous house, I had
nine systems hooked up via a cascaded A/V switchbox setup into a modest
stereo system and 20" TV. No RF whatsoever. It's actually quite the
setup if I can say that without sounding like I'm boasting. The nine
that were hooked up were:

Sega Saturn
Sega Genesis/32X (I break out my CDX for playing SegaCD games)
Sega Master System
NEC TurboDuo
Sony Playstation
Nintendo - NES
Nintendo - SNES
Nintendo - N64
Atari Jaguar

As far as games go, there is a decidedly Sega slant. Over a hundred
Genesis games and nearly a hundred Master System games (almost all
complete in box). Close to a hundred NES games (many fully boxed and
complete) and nearly fifty SNES games (again, almost all complete in
box). Lots of classic games, too, for the Atari systems (2600, 5200,
7800, et al), Colecovision, and Intellivision.

My favourite types of games are side-scrollers, RPGs, and some sports
titles (namely baseball and hockey). For instance, I have all four of
the U.S. Dragon Warrior releases fully complete in boxes...most all of
the major Square releases for the SNES (FFII, FFIII, ChronoTrigger,
Secret of Mana, etc.)...all the orginal Phantasy Star releases on
SMS/Genesis including the Japanese MD versions of PS III and PS IV and,
in addition, many lesser-known RPG titles across all these systems.

Again, I truly hope that I'm not coming across as boasting. I simply
LOVE video games, systems and collecting all sorts of what may be
considered "gem" titles. I was right in the middle of databasing
everything I have when I accepted this new job (and had to pack it all)
so I can't even add that to my website at this point since it's only
about a third complete. However, I do have most of my major systems'
games databased so if anybody wants lists of those, they have but to
ask.

At this point, I hope to get a Dreamcast fairly cheap and start picking
up some of the choice titles for that system. I'm not really keen on
paying full price for console equipment and games so I'm usually a
generation or so behind the curve. I also game a ton on the PC so
that's where most of the "full-price" game purchases go towards.

Once the house is done and everything is unpacked and set up, you can
bet that lots of pictures will be forthcoming. This probably won't be
until around March or so, unfortunately. For anybody that's read this
far, thanks. I really love talking shop in regards to gaming and love
sharing my collection with others online and IRL. Not much beats
playing Virtua Cop on the Saturn with a friend, each of you blasting
away with your own Stunner (I own both VC1 and VC2 with the included
Stunner pistols). Hahaha...too much.

So, if anybody wants my games lists, ask. Also, any suggestions for
RPGs on the Dreamcast? I really lost touch with the scene at that
point and am just now able to get back into it.
