KICKING A MAN WHEN HE'S DOWN

First and foremost: Eric Schiller, get well,
have a full recovery. You and I had many a battle
over real life politics and slanged one another often.
But we agreed on, I suppose, the human issues.

Get well, my friend. And know this: all of us remain
agog at your ability to run a pressroom at world chess
championship matches. You are a wizard.

One figures that the themes here have remained
largely unchanged over the years. Taylor Kingston, the
man who baldly lied about his rating, falsely claiming
to be 2300+ ELO, when he is a class A player -- well
this man is still attacking Eric Schiller as he lies stricken.

Those who are criticizing NMnot Kingston miss the
point. This is rgcp, and NMnot Kingston is to be
commended for kicking a man when he is down. I mean
that. It shows the ruthlessness of what the Malays
call kala jengking or the scorpion. He can see no
reason to stop the attacks, and from his point of
view, he is absolutely correct. Given what we know
this forum is, ought we to expect better from such a
person? I think not. He is being true to himself,
uninfluenced by the niceties of moral or social pressure.

Would it be more honest or better for our NMnot
to act differently? To lie yet again -- this time not
by claiming a chess rating he did not have; this time
not by using false names to praise his own postings,
for Pete's sake; but this time to pretend a human
concern that he does not feel for Eric Schiller.

Louie Blair appears to be asking the same dim
bulb question over and over: Does Larry Parr have a
prediction about the outcome of the USCF board
elections? The answer is: Yes, I do.

So what? Perhaps Mr. Blair meant to ask what my
predictions happen to be? One suspects he will return
with that question. But perhaps not. We shall see.

Yours, Larry Parr
