I happen to agree with you that the decision to bring this suit was
probably a poor idea.
However, as I recall, about two months ago there was a scandalous and
inflammatory posting on this newsgroup attacking Joel Channing.
I suspect that it was that posting that brought on this case.
I considered filing a lawsuit against Tom Dorsch back when over and
over again dozens of times he said on this group that I am gay.
I think that the one thing everybody knows about me is that I am not
gay.
I do think that under very extreme circumstances a lawsuit like this
might be justified.

The above is a posting I made back on 19 Apr 2005 at 13:02:14 -0700,
At that time I strongly supported the candidates who were ultimately
elected.
(Although I was a candidate myself, I know that I had no chance and in
fact I did better than I thought that I was going to do.)
Now that I am on the board, it is beginning to appear that the voters
made some mistakes back in 2005.
Two of the board members have made abusive and inflammatory remarks in
the confidential forum. Meanwhile, I have almost completely stopped
posting to the public newsgroups including this one, because the
president asked me to stop posting here.
Unfortunately, my efforts to be cooperative and to be a good boy have
not had the intended effect. The board members have basically stopped
talking to each other. We are tottering on the edge of a total
breakdown among board members. Now there is silence that could be a
prelude to outright war.
