I admire Bill for discovering a successiful formula for "Goich Events".
Although there is some overlap, the crowd for small local tournaments
is a different crowd from the "Goich Crowd". I don't think that Bill
(who I have talked to and seems to be a Fine Fellow) meant to put me
out of business. He just didn't understand at the time that his
"crowd" would pay higher USCF dues for a "Goich Event" while my crowd
would find a different hobby. His crowd is spending hundrends of
dollars for a tournament; My crowd was spending tens of dollars. Above
$35 dollars, many of them paid the higher dues one time and I never saw
them again. Many of them didn't want the magazine. They just wanted to
play rated events. They were paying $50 for 2 to 4 local tournaments a
year and they stopped..
As far as Adult Tournments, I'm gone and I ain't never coming back....
