The Delegates meeting of the USCF ended at 3:10 PM. It was announced
that the new Executive Board would convene for its first meeting at
4:10.

Beatriz Marinello left the delegates meeting with everybody else and
everything seemed normal. However, when the meeting of the new board
convened she was nowhere to be found.

Then, the new board received the startling news that Beatriz Marinello
had resigned.

Understandable. Her work was largely done and now she must attend to
her health. Best wishes, Beatriz.

What was startling about it? You'd been predicting her resignation for
the past week.

Yes, but he hoped to see her yoked up to the stocks so he could throw
rotten apples at her.

My prediction: Marinello will be seen as a president who did some good
things, and had some howlers. In general, and especially at first, she
really worked for the USCF.

Now she must attend to her girlfriend's furry rugmunch. Elizabeth was
waiting in the car.

If I was responsible for this: http://www.uschess.org/

I would resign as well. You are all the joke of the world with that piece
of crap. Stop Chess Life and start getting a website. Save the trees you
fools. You're the clowns of society.

Old news. Everybody knew that was going to happen weeks ago.

OLD NEWS?

<Old news. Everybody knew that was going to happen weeks ago.> Stan
Booz, Beatriz's chief advisor

So there was a deficit rather than a surplus because of a spreadsheet
error. Was that also old news? Nobody on the success team whispered a
word about it before the election.

The trick here was to wait until the issues surrounding such a deficit
could no longer be discussed in advance.

>From what Hal said the surplus for LAST year was real, what was in
error was a projected surplus of over 600K because of not calculating
Chess Life expenses.

You moron. The so called deficit was on the draft of next year's budget not
last year's audited results of operations.

She was at the Board meeting on Monday, and I believe she agreed to be
the liason to several committees, so she has not yet resigned.

After the initial report (which was inaccurate, she didn't say she was
resigning, apparently what she did say was that she was GOING TO resign)
Tim Redman and others were urging her to remain on the Board.
