| I call upon the Executive Board to expel and ban Beatriz Marinello
from the United States Chess Federation TODAY!
Tale a look at the new press release that has just come out at:

We thought that this was past, but now it says that the 2005 US Open
Championship that will be held in Phoenix on August 8-14 will feature
a BrainSpeed pill demonstration. The press release states:
http://www.brainspeed.com/Site/inde...e.NewsAndEvents
"CAN A BRAIN PILL MAKE YOU A BETTER CHESS PLAYER?"
2005 US OPEN CHESS MASTERS GET A SIN CITY VIEW OF THE NEW
COGNITIVE SUPPLEMENT THAT HELPS THEM THINK FASTER!
According to Beatriz Marinello, President of the US Chess
Federation, "Clearly chess is a game of the mind and working at the
top of your mental processing powers is critical to tournament play.
We are delighted to be embarking on this alliance with Natrol and we
see a direct connection between brainSpeed and our membership. We look
forward to many unique events together in the future."
We would like to know how much money Beatriz Marinello got paid for
this product endorsement. She obviously did not do it for free.
For the past six years the USCF has been struggling against the FIDE
requirement that we submit to drug testing. We have been insisting
that there is no drug that can improve chess performance.
Now, our president has come out endorsing a drug that claims the
ability to enable us to play chess better.
In so doing, Beatriz has slandered all of the chess players of the
world, by suggesting that we play chess better not because of our
superior minds or hard work or study, but because we take this pill
that enables us to play chess better than those who do not take the
pill.
For this slander and for taking money for this, it is insufficient
merely to remove Beatriz as USCF President. She must be expelled and
banned from membership in this organization for life, just as an
Olympic athlete will be banned for life if caught using performance
enhancing drugs.
This matter is urgent and cannot wait. I call upon the Executive Board
to vote to expel Beatriz today. Certainly it has the power to do so,
last year the USCF Executive Board expelled Bobby Fischer from
membership merely for the statements he made on 9-11. If the board can
do that, surely it can expel Beatriz Marinello for the outrageous
statements she continues to make advocating performance enhancing
drugs for chess players.
