the skin of my teeth, and then only by the grace of Joseph Campbell and

his skeleton key.

I should, perhaps, explain a couple of points. I came to Joyce only
rather late in life. Concerning Ulysses,
it took me an *inordinately* long time to figure out that this was *one
day* in the life of Leo & Molly and all,

Once I'd gotten over *that* hurdle, I found it got a whole lot easier.

Now I'd *already* been into quantum mechanics (as a layman) for some
time, and had
read a number of books on the subject. I strongly suspect that reading
about quantum mechanics might inform
*anyone's* reading FW for the first time. So, for me, anyway, compared
with getting my head around Ulysses, all that
"Three quarks for muster mark" stuff seemed like a stroll in the park.

On the other hand, I *could* just be *really weird*....

(Chorus of: "DEFINITELY")
