I was bad enough, certainly worse than Wilbur Smith.

Chris Merli is an honorable person, as were the other ICA officers
during my brief tenure. Most of the good things that happened are
attributable to their efforts, and I'll accept the blame for all the
bad things.

The current ICA officers could use some help.

The sackcloth and ashes are a nice touch Bill, but I don't think
martyrdom is necessary.

If it would be right to blame you for the things that went wrong at the
ICA in the last two years, then it would be right to blame Chris for
things that go wrong in the next two years.

The ICA has been a dysfunctional organization for some time. You may
have been unable to find the key to turning that around but it does not
make you responsible for the dysfunction. Should Chris find the key,
he will certainly deserve the credit for doing so, but he will not
deserve blame if he does not.
