Reminds me of the advice an old farmer gave me 40 years ago.

NEVER loan your chainsaw or your wife, both will come back
all ---- up. The saw will have been used to cut roots below
the ground and the wife will have been abused too. And
she'll probably prefer being a "loaner" and you'll be a
loner, too.

So what is your hard disk problem?
