performance rating (6 games) 2378 - was clearly winning at one point in
the last round against Palos, but blundered. Oh well....

performance rating (5 games, excluding 1st-round win against a
B-player) 2426

I had similar results in 1986 (Prairie State Invitational) and 1989
(Illinois Open). Is this Sloan's suggested new criterion, that
everyone with a couple master-level performances is suddenly allowed to
call himself or herself a master?

One prefers to earn one's titles, thank you.
