Here is Sam's rating in the annual lists from 1986 through 1992:

1986 2126 (peak in the 2100's)
1987 not listed
1988 2130 (peak in the 2100's)
1989 2052 (peak in the 2100's)
1990 not listed
1991 2006 (peak in the 2100's)
1992 2000 (peak in the 2100's)

His peak published rating since 1992 was 2107 in December 1997.

There is no evidence that Sam's peak rating was ever 2200 or higher.
