Just as a point of information. The Ulster Chess Union has split from
the Irish Chess Union. This seems to have been mainly a financial
break.

Does anyone know if the UCU is allowed to join FIDE as a seperate chess
organisation representing northern ireland?

At the AGM it was suggested that the precedent of others joining
ensured Northern Ireland being able to join. In the past other World
Bodies have been forced to accept such applications. Are you really
certain about this?
