So at last we have an answer. A smoking gun, in fact.
Evans did not know one fact, and forgot the other, leaving both out
of his 1996 article. Yet he and Parr have the gall to fault me for not
including in 1998 exactly what Evans did not know in 1996 and what
Evans forgot in 1996. This is rich.
My thanks to Mr. Evans for finally deigning to make a public
statement. Now fairness would seem to require that he make one other:
retracting his derogatory remarks in the 12/2001 Chess Life.

Yes, Mr. Evans, it matters when you misrepresent the facts, and
denigrate someone's work unfairly. Generally speaking, the prescribed
