This is the devil's own scale of reference Taylor - to compare anyone with
B. Erie. And quite beside the point - what is your own scale? Hoiw ludicrous
to make other people of no standard, in fact, who are not decent legal
honest and truthful into some totem of one's own best sense. You read here
too long and not enough beyond. Its a sort of addiction, and even if you win
it seems often like a hollow victory, of some self-presentation that feels
false, no? A walk in the woods and a good book, good conversation and an
inverse sense of knowing things - of allowing oneself to wonder, seems
eminently more wholesome..

Thank you. It was not a dig at you, I meant to stress a quality of
something, rather than a quantity of something.

Is that all?! I thought it must have been something serious. If we put aside
differences of opinion, interpretation and even of information sources, as
being lies or otherwise, what remains?

I think the point is that it is worth having a good dust-up IF the issue has
been Keres/Borvinnik AND something could have been resolved by it. As it
stands most people here now now that among a group of writers there are
various claims about each other, and of their publishers and so on, and
perhaps all is true! Perhaps everyone has done whatever they could within
some restriction of information. Nothing is so squeeky clean, and no-one is
a nun!
