Of course, I quit asking the Sosonko
question. Larry Parr actually answered
that one, thus giving us some specifics
about when he claims to have known
about the 1991 Botvinnik Stalin-proposal
comments in the interview.
_
The sensible (and honest) thing to do
upon receiving an answer to a question
is to proceed with a follow-up question.
Since Larry Parr claims to have known
about the 1991 Botvinnik Stalin-proposal
comment as early as 1994, it is natural
to see if Larry Parr passed that information
on to someone who could confirm
receiving it before 1998. Apparently,
Larry Parr does not want to claim that
GM Evans is such a person:

It is nice to see Larry Parr address
this issue at last. Previously, he
referred to:
_
"What I told [GM Evans] about
meeting with Sosonko in New York."
(27 May 2005 07:46:43 -0700)
_
without any indication of WHEN he
told GM Evans about the Botvinnik
reference to the Stalin proposal. Now,
that he, at last, writes about the
timing, we see that he does not
even rule out the year 2000 (the
year that turned out to be the
time when the Whyld-Aldrich
incident took place).

_
Before 2000/01/17, Larry Parr certainly
DID acquire the intention to write about
the 1948 Keres-Botvinnik subject. Before
2000/01/17, he posted a large number of
notes on the subject. There was even
a whole thread, "Keres-Botvinnik Scandal",
with about fifteen pre-2000/01/17
contributions by Larry Parr. And yet, a
search for Larry Parr notes that mention
Keres, Botvinnik, and 1991 produced
nothing earlier than 2000/01/17.
_
The 1991 interview was conducted by
Sosonko and Pam.

A search for Larry Parr notes that mention
Keres, Botvinnik, and Sosonko produced
nothing earlier than 2000/01/17.

We are still waiting for an answer to that
one.

"GM Alburt said he did not remember the
exact content of these conversations about
Botvinnik" - Larry Parr (28 May 2005

_
An absolute falsehood from Larry Parr. He
should produce a prompt retraction and
apology. I have written NOTHING about
equating Larry Parr's responsibility with
that of a chess person who writes a six
page article for Chess Life.
_
I entered this discussion on 26 May 2005
11:47:45 -0700 after Larry Parr told us:
_
"... Whyld's statement about Keres being
warned not to finish ahead of Botvinnik was
common knowledge long before 1998. ...
I knew about the Botvinnik material long
before it was published by Tim Krabbe ..."
(26 May 2005 05:13:38 -0700)
_
I have been trying to explore the evidence
related to those claims.
