Questions for Kevin Bachler
|
|
| Sam Sloan 2005-04-19, 8:30 pm |
| For a periord of six weeksfromthe end of January until mid-March I was
away from the Internet.
During this period a controversy arose.
From what I can best determine, it was discovered that the rating of
Kevin Bachler and his son had increased substantially as a result of
fraudulent rating reports that were submitted.
Because of his high rating, the son received a stipend for chess
lessons and he used this money to pay Kevin to give chess lessons to
his own son.
This is a major scandal, if true. Certtainly Kevin needs to give the
money back,which is substantial.
The tournament History of Kevin is at:
http://www.uschess.org/msa/MbrDtlTnmtHst.php?10854164
Another Bachler, Jason, has never played in a USCF rated tournament.
Is that the son whose high rating entitled him to money from Helen
Warren?
http://www.uschess.org/msa/MbrDtlTnmtHst.php?12986706
This matter is very important. We need to get to the bottom of it.

And, the third rail of USCF politics is Bill Goichberg. Say something bad
about him ... off to the gulag (TDCC, Ethix committees) you go.

Stop pretending to be the Internet Police. If you had been following
this issue over the last four years that it has been debated, you
would know that the questiuon of Kevin Bachler receiving donated money
to give chess lessons to his own son does have a connection with
computer chess.
If it turns out that the rating of Kevin's son was entirely fake and
some other kid was entitled to the money for free chess lessons, that
is a very serious matter.

As I have explained several times, yes, I was dead, but the Lord sent
me back down to teach these errant chess players the truth, the way
and the light.
However, Tom Klem has been an especially tough case. There seems to be
no way to reform him.
REPENT SINNER!

You have posted this signature thousands of times, yet you have not
been sent off to the gulag.
So, obviously it must be a lie.

Stan Booz is saying that Goichberg helped to defraud a mortgage company.
Seems to me that there must be something to it if the former VP of Finance

Is he the next one to feel the wrath of Sloanberg?

Tom Dorsch was the USCF Treasurer who wrote on this newgroup that USCF
Vice-President was "a white-collar criminal".
Tom Dorsch did many wiorse things than that, but that is what he was
cited for.
In my opinion, censuring Tom Dorsch for his general conduct and
behavior while he was USCF Treasurer was justified.

Tom,
Stan is not the most diplomatic poster on RGCP. In one day, over two posts,
he called me an idiot and a prick. You may or may not agree but you could
say that within the context those were inappropriate names.
What Bill did may have been inadvertant. I doubt it would qualify as
outright fraud. Maybe to a tightwad accountant. Lots of people make white
lies on mortgage applications.
But hey, you know me by now. If Bill had run over an entire kindergarten
class with a huge SUV, massacred them all and backed up several times to
make sure they were all dead, I would defend him. I have no morals. I'm such
an immoral scumbag I endorsed Tim Hanke even though he isn't running.

which will be erected in XXville on some wetlands, close to USCF h'quarters.

| SHRINE TO SAINT STAN
I know of no grifting that Sam Sloan has done, but when he writes
something wrong, I say so very quickly and strongly. As for Bill
Goichberg, I oppose his candidacy unless he returns the $25,000 and
issues a white paper on conflicts of interests that fully satisfies a
critic such as Wayne Praeder.
Having said the above, one also has to say that Stan Booz lies.
Straight out. Without any compunction -- if he thinks it will serve
his cause -- is to keep the incumbents in power.
Mr. Booz knowingly wrote untruths about this writer, and those
are lies. I see no reason at this point to imagine that he is not
employing the same ethical standard in his accounting work for the
USCF. I don't claim that he is, but based on my experience with the
man, I know he lies maliciously.
One can only hope that he does not extend the practice to the account
books.

you have bought hook, line and sinker the party line about stan vaughan.
fact is, the same people who told you that (and you believed them) are the
same ones who've missmanaged or stolen two million dollars. i have told the
truth line for line, word for word, incident for incident over and over
again.
stan vaughan, like anyone, is not a perfect man. with all his warts and
scars, i prefer his company to the likes of sam sloan and bill goichberg any
day of the week.
let the reader user his own discernment as to who is telling the truth.
liars change their stories daily. the truth tells itself over and over again
whether you like it or not.
sam sloan, in my opinion, is nothing more than a grifter who is seeking
office to enhance his chances for being in line at the trough for whatever
financial gain he can get by selling his vote to the highest bidder.

Actually, what Bill did in the "fraud" situation Stan keeps bringing up was
agree to adjust the sale price for the New Windsor property, and the rent as
well, to help the purchaser in some way. The result was a wash financially
for USCF. Bill checked the transaction beforehand with a lawyer who advised
him that it was ok. I don't think this constitutes fraud. Nor does it
justify character assassination, which Stan is getting very good at. Tom,
you have a good nose for B.S. so you should know that saying something over
and over again, in strong terms, doesn't make it true.
Another point: I don't claim to know what went on between Stan and Ken
Thomas (who lives nearby and is a friend of mine). Whatever it was did not
justify Stan airing the minutiae of Ken's performance (and coming close to
libeling him) in this newsgroup. A classy guy would not do that.
Stan used to be one of my favorite posters here, our differences
notwithstanding. His lambasting of Ken Thomas (and ironically not of Bill,
which he has done as far back as I can remember) is what got me thinking
that maybe Stan is a bullshit artist, or that he has a personal agenda (he
wouldn't be the first person on this board to have one). I'm not saying he
is a B.S. artist or not, just that to me, Stan's modus operandi does not
inspire confidence.
As for our little run-in last year, rest assured I didn't mean what you
think I was implying, except as a (perhaps very bad) joke. I'm sorry my post
offended you.

Tom,
Stan is not the most diplomatic poster on RGCP.

One can only hope that he does not extend the practice to the account
books.

| Yes, I am taking up a collection to build a shrine to Saint Stan so we can
all pray to him. I'm naming it The Shrine to Our Lady of the Ledger and Her
Most Devoted Servant." I have a designer and architect for this project,
which will be erected in XXville on some wetlands, close to USCF h'quarters.
