I hope this is of interest to the group. A very unique set.

Antique Verdigris / Brass Chess set. This is an exquisite set that was
brought to the United States generations ago from Greece. It's exact
age is unknown to me. It features beautiful hand crafted metal work.
Half of the chess pieces have been given a striking verdigris finish
while the other half have been left natural to complete The opposing
sides of the game. The King measures 6 inches ....The Knight 3 1/2
inches......and the Pawn 3 3/4 inches. All the pieces are in EXCELLENT
well cared for condition. This set has been cherished. One Pawn is
missing his spear, which actually slide into the pawns hands through a
small worked hole. It could be easily replaced, but I will leave that
to the discretion of the winning bidder.

The board itself is SOLID large and striking. It measures 29 1/2 x 29
1/2 inches. Finished in Brass and Verdigris, the squares alternate
smooth brass and verdigris with figured swirl that is reminiscent of
Van Gohs swirls. The board is hinged in the middle and can fold over in
half for storage and transportation.
