| Barbara, to make it clear,
Poland had and has its share of Boobakis, Hanses,
and even the cruder types which rgc* had a chance
to observe in a thread titled " ... liar Jew...",
something like this. And there were were tragic for
Jews events in Poland soon after WWII. The situation
in Poland was still extremely volatile, and under
such circumstances the Jewish tragedies are a part
of the tragic package. But have the sense to compare
it with the West, with the West European antisemitism.
E.g. Switzerland still rips the profit of taking
advantage of the Jews. The Western Europe was just
better in keeping its dirt under the rug. Remeber
that Western Europe had it realtively easy
and comfrtable when compared to Poland or the Ukrainian
and Russian territories occupied by Germans during
the WWII. Westerners are in no position to judge the
people of Poland, who went through the trauma of German
occupation. Lete into the WWII the German plans for Poles
were the same as for Jews anyway, and they attempted to
implement it. Fortunately, they were not able to follow
it further.
Thus once again, the History was painful and complex,
and not to be summarized over a cup'a English tea.
