Randy bauer said:

I indicated that Brady's letter was full of errors, and we had a
lengthy
newsgroup discussion of it -- you might remember that you didn't
remember
it, even though you posted nearly 10% of it.

My response:

It is true I didn't associate that letter or think of it until you or
somebody refreshed my memory. When you see responses on here without
the text that is being responded to that happens, at least in my case.
My not remembering it, however, is not relevant to the point you are
addressing that it was Franks statement full of lies.

Randy also said that frank Brady said: "...there should be a lengthy
and informed report on the most serious matter ever to confront the
USCF: the proposed move to Crossville." Let's see, just a few short
months ago the USCF was on the verge of bankruptcy, seriously concerned
about being able to make payroll and sitting
on bills to maintain cashflow. The USCF had had 8 consecutive years of
deficits. There isn't anybody with any financial credibility who could
possibly suggest that the proposed move to Crossville is the most
seroius
matter ever to confront the USCF.

My reply: Sorry but many people believe this. To say Frank was lying by
saying this is a stretch. I have no trouble believing Frank means what
he said.

Randy also said: that Frank said: "The offer of five years free rent in
Liberty, New York, with an option to
buy (at an agreed-upon price) after that, seems like a dream come
true."

There was no offer of five years free rent in Liberty with an option to
buy after that. It was suggested that this might come about with more
time to make a deal, but it is a significant error to take this
possibility as a
fact or even a probability.

My reply: I believe your presentation of the facts on this is correct.
But many felt there was a distinct possibility of free rent etc..
Pehaps Frank misunderstood or maybe he knew more than we afterall he
met with them and we didn't. But lie - no way. Frank is independent and
cares little what is thought of him. He is highly principled and would
never lie on such a thing. By the way Randy, I would say the same
thing about you. Facts sometimes get mixed up or overblown but rarely
in my opinion do folks lie outright even here on rgcp.Sometimes they
are reckless with the truth but this doesn't apply here either.

Randy also said Frank sai: "I have heard that we received no responses
to the full-page ad that we ran
in Chess Life for a new ED."

I heard that as well. Only later did I find out we had some resumes and
for all I know when I heard there were none, there was none.

Randy also said: I also think referring to the "fragile" state of the
USCF finances is
erroneous and has been shown by the latest financial statements to be
far
from the mark.

My reply: The latest financial statements weren't available when Frank
made his posting.
