| I've emailed Walter regarding this.
I was concerned that there were problems with the report (or the TD's
status) which nobody communicated with our TD, who claims to be completely
in the dark about this. In fact he's sent out an email to club members
expressing his doubts that the tournament will ever be rated.
Having said all this...
Our TD claims he will learn how to submit the reports electronically but I'm
not holding my breath. I offered to do so on his behalf (I have a lapsed TD
certification, I believe) but he declined. He also refuses to learn to use
the $100 pairing program we purchased to save him time and the club money,
which among other things will prepare electronic tournament reports.
As I've said several times here, USCF needs to sock it to TDs and clubs who
refuse to get with the program. You should charge at least $1 per rated game
submitted on paper. People like our TD will get the message very quickly,
but only if it hits them in the pocketbook. Without that financial
disincentive he'll keep scribbling the reports on scrap paper until he's
100.
