I thought I detected umbrage, but the light was bad in the shade, and
it was at some distance. Perhaps it was merely a sneer.

At any rate, I have to accept Nick's description of his emotional
state at the time of his post, and will thus amend my comment to read
as follows:

"Since another poster takes exception to your having named the latter
country from an old map, I recommend you replace this example with,

Nick calls Sam Sloan a pedantic nitpicker."
