LOCKPORT

Essay contest

The Rotary Club of Lockport in cooperation with the Des Plaines Valley
Public Library District and the Homer Township Public Library District
is sponsoring a Heroes Essay Contest for students fifth to eighth grade
and an Intergenerational Interview for students kindergarten to fourth
grade in School District 205. The contest will run Monday, March 21, to
Friday, April 8.

NEW LENOX

Chess exhibition

The Rooks & Books Young Adult Chess Club's Simultaneous Exhibition
Chess Match Saturday, March 19, will pit multiple young players against
local resident and National Master Vince W. Berry.

The exhibition will be held in the first floor Meeting Room of the New
Lenox Public Library, 120 Veterans Parkway. The tournament is limited
to 30 participants and they must be registered by Tuesday. Contact Tom

PALOS HEIGHTS

Spring camp for youngsters

Palos Heights Registration Department, 6601 W. 127th Street, will be
conducting a week-long Spring Fling Camp March 28 through April 1 from
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily for youngsters six to 10 years of age.

Pre-registration by Monday is required for participation in this
special program offered during the school district's spring break.
