<Larry Parr also knows that the current executive board
renegotiated that $60,000 contract down to a lower number. Larry Parr
will not fully disclose these things because.... well, you can draw you
own conclusions. Meanwhile, what difference does it make if the
Crossville architect and Harry Sabine are best friends or only nod at
each other at the local Rotary meetings? The Crossville architect's
work appears to be good, he has been receptive to renegotiating a
contract that the USCF, through ED Niro, entered into willingly.> --
Randy Bauer
We have still not received what Tim Hanke called detailed cost
estimates of the move to Cross-to-Bear. Randy Bauer tells you that he
has tossed out his estimates (like scraps of meat) and that will have
to do. Members who want to see what Mr. Hanke said would be available
will not get to see those estimates.
What is being hidden?
Every imbecilic excuse imaginable has been offered for why the
figures can't be provided. First, Tim Hanke offered hooha about
requiring a phone call and consultation with the board. That was seven
weeks ago.
Then Stan Booz and Randy Bauer tried the oldest USCF
political trick in the book: they attacked the questioner. You MEMBERS
could not see the cost estimates because this writer is a dirt farmer
and a non-member. These two honorable guys quit that stuff when it was
obviously not playing well in Peoria.
Mr. Bauer then offered a bald number: $150,000 to $200,000
without telling us what it included. It turns out that the number does
not include the $60,000 in annualized "expenses" for Beatriz Marinello
or the legal fees being run up by this move. It may not include
payments being made into the NY state unemployment fund. Does it
include the deficit that will be run when putting up the new building:
the new building will cost AT LEAST $550,000 (the first estimate we
heard was $300,000 to $350,000), which will be a minimum of $35,000
over what the old building, which was more than twice the size, sold
for.
We don't know what Mr. Bauer's bald numbers, presented with
such evident contumacious disdain, include.
And, of course, we still have not received the detailed
estimates of the move to Cross-to-Bear.
Meanwhile, we cannot be told whether Harry Sabine is a friend
of Phil Elmore, the famished Cross-to-Bear architect, who was to get
$60,000 sweet ones for building a structure originally estimated to
have cost $300,000 to $350,000. The MEMBERS cannot be told whether Mr.
Sabine knew of the cost overrun and kept his trap firmly shut lest a
friend fail to make a killing. The MEMBERS cannot be told these things
because Mr. Elmore has shown himself "receptive" to renegotiating the
contract.
"Receptive"? What a greasy, weasly word. We were told that
the contract has been renegotiated. Is Mr. Bauer offering a new
official line here? Looks like it.
Oh, yes, MEMBERS cannot know about Mr. Sabine's relationship
with Famished Phil because the latter's work "appears" (love that word)
to be good.
The only thing that any of you need to know: this writer,
who broke the story about the ripoff of the Federation, is always
looking for a mole.
Damned tootin', I am.
Why? So these honest guys have to renegotiate other
contracts that are likely as dirty as the Famished Phil Elmore one.
Oh, yes, the reason why MEMBERS were not told about the
ripoff contract is NOT that these honest guys had anything to hide.
No-o-o-o, not that. They are all, all honorable men. I had to break
the story because they were too busy to let the MEMBERS know or because
they had to pick their noses.
Something like that.
More anon.
